Wisdom from the Animal Kingdom
What is The Animal Element?

The Animal Element is learning how to observe all of our senses and connect to the truth of what we observe without letting our monkey mind make up a story that is based on past events or inaccurate beliefs.
Intuition is an undeniable sense of inner knowing that operates through nonverbal communication. But how do we activate it, connect to it, and transform it from a mystical concept into a tangible, valuable resource?
The key lies in understanding and harmonizing our senses, which is what animals do and explains their ability to remain in the present moment.Â
The first five are easily recognised – sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch – allow us to observe the external world. When we simultaneously engage all five, we enter a state I call “neutral,” our sixth sense. This neutral state quiets the mind in a profound way, opening the door to deeper awareness.
The next three senses involve internal observations. The seventh is the heart, the eighth is the pineal gland, and the ninth is the gut. Each plays a crucial role in our intuitive abilities:
7. The heart, linked to the heart chakra, reveals truth when we learn to interpret its signals without mental interference.
8. The pineal gland, associated with the third eye chakra, doesn’t directly perceive light but responds to light information from our eyes. It regulates our internal rhythms, influencing sleep, mood, and our connection to nature’s cycles.
9. The gut, connected to the lower chakras from root to solar plexus, is often the source of our “gut feelings.” These intuitions arise from a complex interplay of bodily sensations, subconscious knowledge, and past experiences.
The tenth sense is intuition itself – our innate knowing, which people often refer to as having, “a 6th sense.” I consider it the culmination of all other senses working in harmony. When we intentionally connect to this sense, we access a realm of profound understanding. It’s associated with the higher chakras: crown, causal, and soul star.
Our animal friends have a beautiful secret to share with us. They naturally use all ten senses in perfect harmony, without getting tangled up in thoughts about yesterday or tomorrow. Like gentle observers, they stay fully present, softly aware of the world around them through their outer senses, while also listening to the quiet whispers of their heart, gut, and inner rhythms. This delicate balance allows them to tap into their intuition as easily as breathing. By watching and learning from our animal companions, we can gently remind ourselves of our own ability to blend our senses, calm our busy minds, and connect with the deep wisdom that lives in each moment. As we practice this, we not only nurture our intuition but also find ourselves slowly reconnecting with the natural world and the truest version of ourselves. It’s a gentle journey back to our natural state of being.
